WSI ANNOUNCES NEW MANAGEMENT AT Y-12

By ExchangeMonitor

Oak Ridge protective force contractor WSI-Oak Ridge is bringing in executive Steve Hafner from the Hanford Reservation to head up security work at the Y-12 National Security Complex. The move, announced by WSI yesterday, comes in the wake of last weekend’s stunning security breach that led to the removal of two top WSI site officials. Hafner will serve as acting general manager for an undetermined period of time, and comes to Y-12 after serving as the Vice President of Safety, Security and Environment since 2009 for Hanford’s Mission Support Alliance, where WSI is teamed with Lockheed Martin and Jacobs. Hafner will take over for Lee Brooks, who along with WSI Director of Protective Force Operations Gary Brandon were removed from their positions after three peace activists penetrated Y-12’s highest security area last weekend. WSI also said that Director of Training and Emergency Management John Garrity is taking over for Brandon as the director of the site’s protective force. CTF Manager Bryan Lambert will replace Garrity on an acting basis. Brooks and Brandon are awaiting reassignment by WSI parent company G4S Government Solutions.
