House and Senate lawmakers face a big week as they are set to finish work on Fiscal Year 2012 appropriations bills and the FY2012 Defense Authorization Act. A Continuing Resolution that is funding the Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration expires Friday, the same day the House is set to leave Washington, and after working through the weekend, lawmakers could file an omnibus appropriations bill and the Defense Authorization Act as early as today. That would give both chambers time to vote on the bills later in the week after the House’s mandatory 72-hour waiting period.
