David Campbell is leaving Bechtel National for a senior management position at competitor Veolia Nuclear Solutions, Bechtel confirmed Wednesday.
Campbell, who had been with Bechtel since 2012, was most recently the company’s vice president for marketing and business development. His last day at Bechtel is Feb. 24, a company spokesperson said.
Campbell will lead business development for Veolia’s nuclear segment, a source said.
Veolia did not immediately reply to requests for comment Wednesday.
Veolia, a Paris-based waste and water management specialist, has moved aggressively into the nuclear cleanup space lately. Last year, the multinational acquired Kurion, of Palo Alto, Calif., for $350-million in a bid to bolster the parent’s access to nuclear cleanup and decommissioning work. Kurion now falls under the Veolia Nuclear Solutions segment with two other of the parent’s holdings.
As part of its effort to rake in more nuclear-cleanup business, Veolia last year hired Billy Morrison away from Atkins to lead the former’s federal services group. Morrison subsequently enticed Campbell to come aboard, the source said.
